First off, I read today the Sox voted to give Nomar Garciaparra a full
playoff share, even though they traded him off in late July. I think
that's very classy and acknowledges all the hard work he put in for the
team over the years. Even if I think the players we got for Nomar are
better, I'm still a fan.

Second, it's not a good idea to try and get a group of drunks outside
Sligo to sing the Cheers theme during World Series celebrations.
They may attack the song with gusto, but all everybody ends up
remembering is "...where everybody knows your na-a-ame, bum bum bum...
uh, where everybody knows your na-a-ame..."

Third, who in Boston wasn't ready to strangle that kid they showed
on Fox in the sixth inning who was all "OH YEAH I AM SO GLAD I AM HERE TO
SEE THE SOX WIN?" Honestly, had the stars been aligned just a wee bit
differently, that kid could've cost us the entire series. It was
wise of us Sox fans to be wary. We'd been down this road before. I was
unable to accept victory until the last out had been recorded. I was
so worried Foulke was running too slow with that blooper ball. I
was so worried the underhand toss would be missed. And then, a
second later, it just didn't matter anymore. And that was good.

Looks like it's time to retire this rally shirt. I've had it far too
long.
