Just once I'd like, when the pipes freeze, to have a full load of clean dishes instead of a sink full of dirty ones.

That way I could at least eat my microwavy food-in-can stuff.

Yeah, I did dishes a couple days ago with water taken from the bathtub. And I live with two boys in their early 20s, surely one of the messiest demographics in America.

The last update I got on the pipe situation involved calling in a plumber, so I do believe at this point the pipes have burst. That's not so good. But we are resilient stock and take measures during times of trial to, uh, make things more gooder.

I'm getting paper plates and plastic cutlery tonight after work. As long as I can nuke the food in a safe container, I'll be fine, though I do admit the idea of eating the food hobo-style (cold and right from the can!) is quite appealing too in a Winter's Misery kind of way. There's also a tap I can draw (hot hot piping hot!) water from in the basement, and I even have the same water jugs I used last year when I had no water, so it's just like camping out or something only there are cats and computers and no tents.

Things are all the more special for me in this situation, because tomorrow is Lastday and I have to eat well if I'm gonna renew.
