Here now at no extra cost to you, the viewer, a classic post from the Brunchma board dated November 3, 2001. I figured I might as well archive it at some point before the powers that be just turn the board off and leave a lot of people screaming.

Spatch meets the Mayor )
7.15.2003: Bill Mauro was indeed re-elected for another term as Mayor of Marlborough in 2001. Either he has declined to run again this year, or there are term limits in place that prevent him from doing so. I can't remember which and frankly, it's not my city any more so I'm not exactly in a Very Caring mindset about it (as opposed to the Extremely Caring mindset I found myself in back in 2001) but I do know this: One of the new candidates is the guy who runs the porn shop on Main Street. Meeting him in similar circumstances would've been... entertaining.

Upon further reflection of the events of the past seventy-two hours I believe I can safely and unequivocally state that the leftover pizza was not refrigerated in a timely enough manner before re-consumption.

This explains but does not excuse the fact that I have logged more hours in that room during the past twenty-four hours than I had so far all month. Tuesday was a wasted day and it looks very much like Wednesday won't be so damn productive either.

Clearly this a suboptimal arrangement and I wish I could just sleep it all off.

One of the saving graces of today is that we're getting a wonderful sea breeze in from the coast. This means that even though I feel like crap, I can still drag the canvas chair out onto the deck and watch the sunset and smell the nice breeze.

A glass of water, a tablet of Immodium, and thou. (Only the 'thou' in this case turns out to be the cat, who is desperately trying to dig through the screen door and be outside as well.)

Still, worse things happen at sea.
