I want a shot at redemption.

As part of the ongoing Operation Clean The Fuck Up, I have gathered up all my soda can and bottle redeemables and will shortly be transporting them to the can and bottle munching machine getup of my choosing.

It's no secret that I drink a lot of Diet Coke and this is the result of an entire summer's worth of can accumulation. I currently have nine grocery bags full of bottles and cans just waiting to go. My original goal was to collect and bring in enough today to pay for dinner tonight (pasta, beef, sauce, caviar, you know, nothing fancy) but now I see I will have enough to not only buy my dinner parts, but also to buy -- what else? Another case of Diet Coke.

The circle is complete.

I think it's a safe bet to say that tonight's delicious meal is brought to me by the good people at the Coca-Cola Company. Cheers!

Sure, I could be picky and say that the cost of the drinks for the meal alone would be 50 cents, since I'll probably drink two cans at dinner; that brings me to a net gain of $2.32 when all is said and done. Not a bad haul either! Just a shame this kind of meal only comes around once every four months or so.

Harry Goz, the voice of Captain Murphy, passed away this week. A message from Adam Reed and Matt Thompson, co-creators of "Sealab 2021," follows:
