I heard William Shatner's version of Pulp's "Common People" tonight and I actually rather liked it. Turned it into this idiosyncratic little rock song with Shatner's, er, Sinatraesque phrasing. And it kicks a lot of ass near the end, that's for sure. If I've missed any buzz that his "Has Been" album has generated, what with being produced by Ben Folds and contributed to by the likes of Joe Jackson et al, then it's because I've been living in a cave these past umpty-two years.

And also, to namedrop <lj user> tags, while it was a very nice surprise to see muffyjo outside my house a few minutes ago, it was an even crazier (and still nice!) surprise to see guxx and pheromone stop by as well! We had a nice little get-together right there on the street for a few minutes, redirecting traffic and all. I'm just glad I thought to actually put shoes on before going downstairs.
