Forgot this little snippet when I visited Dad last week.

DAD: I like Law & Order, but not the new ones. There's too many new ones.
ME: Yeah, I like the original one the best.
DAD: But I really like the other show, you know. The one on, uh, when's it on?
ME: Got me.
DAD: Oh, you know what it is. DUN DUN DUNDUNDUN! DUN DUN! DUN DUN DUNDUNDUN! DUN DUN!
ME: (blank stare)
DAD: NYPD Blue! The drums!
ME: Oh, yeah. Awesome, Dad.


PS: How come nobody told me ZACK MORRIS was now a detective? Seriously, that's front-page news there. He can just say "All right, I think we need a little time out!" during an investigation and talk to the audience about what's going on.

AOL has seen fit to do horrible things to my current IM name, which I liked very much because it was my name. Now I guess I need a new IM name, and some way to import my contact lists and stuff.

Any suggestions on a new name? My name but backwards was connected to that account. And someone already took both "Abbie the Cat" and "derspatchel", what the hell.


Hmm. Now everything is working. But JUST IN CASE... what would be a good contingency name?
