The Agawam Historical Association has a whole barrel full of pictures of Riverside Park back before it got Flagged. Decades before it got Flagged, even. Back when its star attraction was the humongous outdoor swimming pool called Lake Takadip.

The collection starts at this incredibly awesome picture of the park's super space-age entrance back in the 1950s and 60s. Holy cats, check out that 'tecture! I want to go there right now!

Actually, I miss the Monorail a lot. There was only one station, it didn't do nothing except go around an oval, but at one part it went through a tunnel that looked just like a house and it also passed over the Pirate's Ride lagoon. I liked that. I root for the underdog rides.
