spatchWindows Live, despite the silly name, offers a browser-based version of Google Earth, only without the trippy seamless transitions and stuff. In fact, the interface annoys the hell out of me, as the birds' eye views are not seamless and you can't ever center correctly that which you wish to look at. It also makes exploring difficult, too.
That said, here are some of the better views I've found and, surprise surprise, they're all amusement park related. Knoebels and anything north of Boston, it seems don't have birds' eye views yet. So it goes.
Astroland and Deno's Wonder Wheel Park
The Coney Island Cyclone
Ghostrider at Knott's Berry Farm
Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point (the first to break 400 feet in height!)
Raptor at Cedar Point
Splash Mountain and the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland. Haunted Mansion has a green roof. Who knew?
The Coaster Formerly Known As The Riverside Cyclone at The Park Formerly Known as Riverside. With this view you can see exactly how they neutered the once-wicked first drop of the coaster. The old track is still underneath the new track. Sad, really.
And to really go out with a depresso bang, the current state of the Mountain Park ruins in Holyoke. Completely burnt to the ground. For reference, here again is a link to the set of Mt. Park pictures I took in 1997.
