spatchLas Vegas' venerable Stardust hotel and casino will close at the end of 2006. After implosion and removal, the space will be occupied by the blandest-looking upscale thing ever. While the Wynn went upscale in the place of the ol' Desert Inn, the Wynn has character. Tacky, HR Pufnstuf-meets-frosting character on the inside, sure, but at least it's not corporate sterile.
Oh well. And at least it's not all condos.
