I just went and got me a Vox account!

Yippee skippy!

Look how shiny it is!

Jeepers creepers!

It looks as if LiveJournal and Flickr and TypePad and MySpace all got together and made a baby!

And it was a mutant!

And full of needless UI garbage!

And then they threw ads all over it!

Wow!

and it apparently hates the Opera browser, too! the only thing I could do with mine was freakin' put wood on the top of it. what the hell people I mean seriously

It hates dialup too. SLOW SLOW SLOW. That's why I get over there about once a month or so (or when somebody posts over here and says HAY I GOT VOX and I go look at them and put them in my Neighborhood and then I don't go back there for another month again).

Don't look at me. I have days when I'm tempted to go back to using Lynx fulltime. Just 'cause.

Yeah, I don't understand why it's so craptastic. I keep hoping one day I'll log on and it will suddenly be not awful.

Back when HTML email was first getting popular I tried to 'splain to a friend of mine why it was just silly to stuff an email message full of pictures and fonts and colors and circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one explaining what each one was, and she just looked at me funny and said things like "but it makes it more FUN! it's more PRETTY!"

I think we've already lost this one...

When I was your age we didn't have pre-made Jell-O. We had to boil up the hides and hooves ourselves and then take the gelatin and stir it up real good with an old sugarcane. And who knows where that old sugarcane has been? It wasn't pretty, mister.

If the best thing you can do with a website is give it some wood...

Er, let me rephrase that.

So... um... what is Vox? We the non-innanet devotees want to know.
