spatchA little bit after lunch I ran into our receptionist (bam! ouch!) who mentioned I had a package waiting for me in the mail room. "I think you have a Vaaaaaalentiiiiiine!" she said. So I went over and found the box and took it back to my cube.
Inside were a little over two dozen carnations in the most amazing shade of purple you've ever seen on a carnation. And they came with their own glass vase, which is also wonderful because I've been needing a nice vase for a while. The deep purple combined with the green stems are neat, and it goes so well against the backdrop of an industrial drab cubicle wall.
I have a Vaaaaaaalentiiiiiiiine!
The card attached read, in part, "Why? Because guys don't often get flowers; they smell nice; they make you popular with the ladies and gossips in the office; I wanted to."
The third part sure is true, everybody is going "oooooOOOOoooh!" as they pass by. And the flowers have now pretty much opened up fully and look just wonderful.
