Illuminating fact:

Generic brand microwavable kettle corn at 99 cents a box (and 33 cents a pack) is much fluffier and tastier than the Orville Redenbacher's regular priced box of oil-drenched corn stuffs. A wonderful fact to know if you not only like your popcorn but are cheap besides.

If I had an air popper I'd be all over making fresh saltless popcorn and downing it by the fistful, but I make do with some very tasty kettle corn indeed.

I have found that Penzey's Cheese Sprinkle on microwave popcorn made of regular kernels in a micro-popper thingo I bought at Le Tarzhay is sad, but zesty.

OK, define "kettle corn" for me, because Sarcasmom sent "olde fashioned kettle corn" in a Sarcasmom Package a while back and it was vile scary Flavoured Corn With Aspartame. Olde Fashioned my carcinogenic olde ARSE.

Sarah and I have found that el cheapo Pop Weaver brand microwave popcorn (regular, not kettle) is much better than either Act II or Redenbacher's. Unfortunately, the only place we can find the 15-packs is Wal-mart, and we refuse to shop there, so we pay a little more per unit by getting 4-packs at Family Dollar.
