The only ex-Sox who don't get much respect are Clemens and Damon -- perhaps it's because of their eventual move to the Yankees. Nomar (as disappointed as he was with the whole "Cowboy Up" thing) and Pedro are still considered good guys, though they both had the smahts to change leagues when they moved. :)
I was at Mo Vaughn's first appearance at Fenway after he acrimoniously left Boston for Anaheim. I was quite worried the fans would start whipping out the D-cell batteries, but as it turned out, there were a few boos, but about 3/4 of the crowd gave him a welcome back standing ovation on his first at-bat. Besides, Vaughn's beef wasn't with Boston, but with Dan Duquette and the Sox brass, and back in the late 90s, Mr D. was not a very popular figure amongst the Fenway faithful.
