Not only is there gonna be authentic rockabilly on next week's Rock Band DLC, it's gonna be from Roy Orbison.

I never thought I'd even be thinking about playing Claudette or Ooby Dooby on a plastic guitar video game, but damned if I won't play the heck out of em.

I think I'll learn myself how to play Strat 1 like an upright bass for this set. Too bad you can't slap that strum bar!

If they really wanted to test singers, they would have put Crying on there. That damn song has a huge range on it.

I'm really glad to see them exposing the younger generation to some great older music.

Oh, man. This will be only the second time I'll buy DLC in the last two months. (I got two songs from the No Doubt pack...apart from that, I haven't picked up anything since the Presidents pack on election day.)

Yeah. DLC is the term for downloadable content, which is how Harmonix releases new songs for the Rock Band platform. Both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 have a fine content purchasing and delivery system, and Harmonix has pretty much made good on its promise to release new songs for the game just about every week. Sometimes they release whole albums, such as the Pixies' Doolittle or Rush's Moving Pictures. In July they promised there would be 500 songs available by year's end, and they met that goal in the beginning of December.

Anyway, Orleans is pretty good about adding the DLC songs to their roster, so I bet the Orbison will be there next week.

Psychobilly Freakout was on Guitar Hero 2 and even though the vocals are quite easy to remember, I bet it would be a blast anyway.
