When Franken was running for Senate, I remembered back to this period and kept being astounded that this guy was even a viable candidate. I mean, I don't even think I could run for public office with the stuff I've said in public fora. Franken spent the whole last part of the Seventies going waaaaay over the line as often as he could.
Strangely, he seems to be an excellent Senator and may be the only serious person there.
