spatchJust picked up Witcher 2 and am enjoying it so far. Looks darn good, that's for sure. I did notice something brilliant about the world-building in the game, though. The band of wild Elven hunters, you know, the ones in every good fantasy game what has dragons and dwarves and castles an' everything, well, these folks are called Scoia'tael. It's pronounced in such a way that you could conceivably corrupt it to "Squirrel", which is what the humans in the game have done. It's become their pejorative for the enemy elves.
This is all well and good, and you hear it casually enough in the dialogue that it works and helps the game world in the long term, but then you notice a wanted poster announcing a bounty on the hated "leader of a ruthless band of Squirrels". And you don't stop giggling. Ever.
