more post card madness
Apr. 27th, 2004 10:06 amHere's the latest batch of postcards that I got this week, courtesy my postcard admirer. Earlier this week I got a lovely Van Gogh painting, the Starry Night at Arles, with the "Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight..." poem on the back, postmarked Brooklyn. And then yesterday I got one with Oscar Wilde on the front, postmarked Charlotte, NC. The quote on the back reads "A dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight, and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world." His quote (and I'm assuming it's his, as all the other postcards with text have been relevant to the picture on the front) is a good one -- and hints that somebody is well-aware of my nocturnal habits. Each new card is now not only a joy but a possible clue; each new quote suggests this person is familiar to me. Rather, this person is someone who's known me for a while. But who?
