Date: 2003-07-31 01:05 pm (UTC)In junior high, we had a cafeteria. In non-lunch hours, we also could use it for some gym activities, and we had school dances there.
Normally, we were forced to go outside and hang out outside the school entrance for 20 minutes of the lunch break to 'get fresh air.' We had no equipment or ball fields or stuff, so we just hung out like hoodlums.
But when it rained, we stayed in the cafeteria. Where we had a JUKEBOX. And it was a free jukebox! So you could play any popular favorite in the box for free while being whack inside.
We had the SUPER BOWL SHUFFLE. And sometimes, because you couldn't tell what had been requested prior to your request, it would play on repeat for most of 20 minutes.
Sometimes, it would just alternate with Journey songs.
Which has always led to me imagine Steve Perry singing the Super Bowl Shuffle. Or the 'punky QB' trying to sing Separate Ways (Worlds Apart).
