Does the sequel to this include Billy Dee on tenor sax?

This is incredible. Instant background. Thank you.

But what the hell is Artoo doing? I can't imagine he'd make a good drum machine, so maybe he's just a groupie.

I think 'brilliant' far outweighs 'sad' for this. I'd go as far as 'genius', even.

That rocks, and I can so see Darth Vader as the Sith Lord Of Thunder...though he won't exactly be able to spit blood out of his face mask like Gene.

No Padawan should ever be that sparkly. Ever. I don't care if you come from the planet Glamrockus T-Rex which is located in the Bowie quadrant, I don't care if you claim the sequins deflect plasma beams, just...NO. And no platforms, either.

And what's with the harness rigging keeping Vader up there? Vader don't need no stinking harness. Come on now. Be reasonable.

Still, I would have to give this 3 stars for effort, and for giving Leia the plaid leggings and the SWEDISH RAWK CHYK hunched-over-the-mic pose.

Aww come on... If Luke had some blades on the bottom of those platforms, he'd be ready for Ice Capades!

Now THAT'S classy!

jd thinks that this was from an actual star wars poster -- that leia is hunched over giving the plans to R2, and luke has a lightsaber in the real version. can't explain han though.

Well he's right about it being from a real Star Wars poster, but wrong in that this was modified. This WAS the real poster, I've seen it before in some random official Lucasarts thingummy.

From an entry on JediNet.com that I googled up:

"A quick note about the Hugh Fleming's awesome two-page painting for the "Star Wars Rocks 2" before I move on to the Peet Janes "The Horse's Mouth" column. Fleming imparts the usual great motion into the breakdancing form of Maul, tons of attitude into the three rappers (Viceroy Nute Gunray getting his groove on, a dazed-looking Jar Jar Binks, and an appropriately pompous Boss Nass), and what is probably most outta-rage-us portrait of Yoda done by a licensed artist. The sunglasses and boom box do wonders for his image. Let's hope he doesn't break into song in Episode II. The Battle Droid DJs with the "Roger" "Roger" shirts were a great touch. The graffiti-stylized versions of Queen Amidala and the words "Star Wars" on the wall behind the DJs are simple and capture the essence of the Queen while giving her Padmé's attitude. Beautiful!"
