spatchSo as many of you know, my "day job" (I must have one, cause folks keep telling me not to quit it) involves dispatching roadside assistance calls to people what needs em. No, it's not AAA. I get calls from lots of people all over the US. Most people are nice. Some people are jerks. Today I got someone famous. I got to help Joan Osborne out.
Now I didn't get all fanboy. I didn't even mention it, cause honestly, I didn't think it would be very professional to. I kinda figured it was her because her vehicle was registered under the name of her record label (I googled it out of curiosity after the call to confirm it.) I just provided her the same service I'd provide anyone else, because it's probably that's what she wanted. Otherwise she wouldn't have called.
Anyway, it was a nice little pleasant diversion. She was really cool and quite nice (with a wonderful phone voice, but I guess that's to be expected as she's got a great singing voice -- and if you haven't heard any of her stuff other than One Of Us then you really are missing out.) I, of course, was my usual helpful self, and got someone out to help with her vehicle problems. Later on I talked with some other cow orkers about celebrity calls -- apparently Aaron Spelling is a miserable SOB but Ben Affleck was pretty cool.
And because I forgot this morning, here is your abstract for today.
