(Actually, I love the entire story of Harpo and Susan Fleming, from the first leer from the stage to the firehouse elopement to annoy the gossip columnists. I've been wanting to write an entry on Harpo's home life for a while now, mostly because it tickles me and mostly because the rules he set down for his kids as described in Harpo Speaks! is one of the best examples of parenting I've ever heard of.)
Once upon a time (like around 1990), Spy magazine called up a lot of senators and asked them a question: "What do you think should be done about the situation in Freedonia?"
Many of the senators so contacted issued statements condemning the "ethnic clensing" taking place at the time.
