Former Secretary of Defense, dead at 88. Immortalized in comic strip verse by Opus the Penguin (Weinberger was so taken by the strip that he wrote a letter to Berke Breathed and requested the original.) The staunch Reaganite, notorious for the $1 trillion peacetime military buildup during his tenure as Secretary of Defense, ironically began his career as a government cost-cutter.

Anyway, I have nothing further to say, I just wanted to post some penguin poetry today.
