Life's like mayonnaise soda
And life's like space without room
And life's like bacon and ice cream
That's what life's like without you

Hey baby, what's good?
Owned by chef Heston Blumenthal, The Fat Duck in Bray wowed the judges with original dishes such as sardine on toast sorbet and bacon and egg ice cream.

"It's a complete package of enjoyment I am after," said Blumenthal, whose scientific approach to creating new flavours has seen him dubbed the guru of "molecular gastronomy", according to The Guardian newspaper.
Yes, Lou is a crazy space-age prophet, foreseeing this day thirteen years ago, and we love him for it.

NB Heston Blumenthal, you've done your work on this Earth so there's no need to try for the mayonnaise soda next. Thanks.

I'm so sad I became a vegetarian before I got round to trying his snail porridge.

Jeff and I intend to save up and eat there at some point when we go to Britain.

Alexandra told us that her mother is very fond of the Fat Duck and goes there regularly, but that Mummy thinks it's frightfully bourgeois to go to a restaurant for the food.

Well, there's no answer to that really, is there?

It's actually not out-of-the-world expensive (think two courses for two without wine for c£60 last time I checked). It's just that you can't get a fricking table there now for the next century. Bah.

Also I can't for the life of me remember where that "going to a restaurant for food is so bourgeois/some other word I forget" quote comes from and it's driving me nuts.

I'd eat bacon ice cream.
But I like sweet-salt combinations.
