I hear that Red Sox pitcher "Ladies Love Cool" Bronson Arroyo is playing songs from his new CD at Avalon sometime in July. Uh huh. Again, I say, uh huh.

And that got me thinking: If he suddenly, like, choked onstage, would Mike Timlin or Alan Embree come out from the wings, pick up the guitar, and finish the set?

Cause if so, that'd be awesome.

i think i blogged about the running gag i have with dave (mom's hubby) about the artist formerly known as cornrroyo. if i haven't...

mom, dave and i were watching lost the same night as a game was on, and they were flipping back and forth between the show and the game. at one point my mother made the observation that, since arroyo grew out "that stupid haircut" (hee!), he looks an awful lot like dom "charlie" monaghan. my mom's husband, knowing that i know little about baseball, turned to me and said "just so you know, arroyo was never in driveshaft."

this has since become a massive inside joke. the day tickets went on sale, dave encouraged me to go and yell out a request for "you all everybody".

this is probably dumb and/or boring, so i'll shush now.

I think it's perfectly cute. The only thing you'd have to worry about is if B-Smoov shows up at his gig with a little ceramic Virgin Mary statue in his rucksack.
