And the question of the evening is: Do I care enough about Airplane! to watch it on AMC, which now is a terrible movie channel and chops up the films and takes out all the groovy cuss words and interrupts the film for commercials?

The answer is: I think so, yeah.

I usually watch the chopped version on TV, and then go pop my tape in my VCR to watch the whole thing.

I suspect if AMC showed UHF I'd be in the same fix.

I think it might be worth it to see how badly they could screw up edititing this one! I mean, every other word was insulting to someone! It's a great flick.

AMC has become like 1980s Sunday night network matinee, with movies that could've been made better on a TV-movie budget.

I REALLY miss the old AMC. Thank goodness Turner Classic Movies is there to fill the gap.

Complete with Old Hollywood Types introducing the films! I miss Bob Dorian and, to an extent, Nick Clooney, but I like Robert Osborne.

Last night TCM ran nothin' but Judy Garland, including a few Andy Hardy films. I was happy.
