These trailers were made for what was supposed to be a private contest among the "Association of Independent Creative Editors." They didn't mean for the unwashed Internet masses to find and view them, which seems to me incredibly silly -- though I'm sure there's worries of copyright infringement and stuff, since the inane legislation passed in recent memory seems to not understand the concept of parody anymore.
At any rate, there's a third trailer floating around, recutting Titanic as a horror movie. Get 'em while you can.
I don't know when Solisbury Hill became shorthand for "the inspirational part of the feel-good romantic comedy trailer" but I think it was that song that cliched the entire thing for me.
Someone passed that around work, and. never having seen The Shining, I didn't get it. I thought it looked like a good movie but was confused at how young Jack Nicholson looked :)
A crazy director needs to find a crazy millionaire to produce a genre flick and market it like a diametrically opposed genre flick. Example: Marketed as "Must Love Dogs". Opening titles roll, "Must Love Dogs, You Sonuva Bitch".
