As I was puttering around in the Citizens Bank vestibule at Harvard Square last night (it's the Target of bank branches) I realized that the erstwhile banking institution had gone and changed its logo without telling anyone. At least, it went and changed its logo without telling me, which is the important thing here.

The previous logo was a stylized C made up of three rhombus-like thingies. It wasn't so bad. But apparently it was old and played out, so now their design team sat down amidst who-knows-what and came up with this one:



As loath as I am to make the particular correlation I am about to make since I know that not every hollow circular logo deserves it, I have to. I just have to.

That's the logo of the Royal Bank of Scotland. I guess someone's bought someone.

Actually, Citizens is owned by the Royal Bank of Scotland. They should just change the name to RBS and be done with it.
