Tracy was kind enough to mail me a picture he took of Abbie this weekend. It was nice to see what the feller was up to while I was gone. I'm linking you to the unresized picture right now since I have no photo manip. software available, but I think you'll get the gist.

Mr. Abbie has visited the buffet, made his selection and is now heading to his Happy Place to torment his dinner some more. (4MB JPG)

Actually, according to Tracy, Mr. Abbie then deposited his find under the sofa and scampered off. I'm still not sure where it eventually ended up, but I'm hoping for the best (inside the cat) rather than the worst (dead under the couch.)

Go go go Abbie!

My cat finds two or three mice every winter but never kills them. He carries them around, lets them go, chases them, catches them, carries them around, lets them go... until it finally gets into the radiator where it would hide for the rest of its life if I didn't pry it out and let it go into the woods.

I'm glad he doesn't kill them though, because cats can carry and transmit (through their feces) toxoplasmosis to humans, which they get from the blood of rodents.

As it turned out, the mouse got chased out from the couch again, Abbie chased it some more, then it disappeared for a bit and I went to bed. When I woke up, Abbie was chasing it again but it was not able to move very quickly anymore. I got them impression he had been up all night doing this. I caught it and took it outside.
