Macy's window display this holiday season is a set of dioramas from A Christmas Story.

Yes!

Presented, in order, is the Higbee's window with Red Ryder BB Gun in full view (along with the Red Ryder cutout, train set, etc), Flick stuck to the flagpole, neighbors staring at the Old Man arguing about the leg lamp in the window, Ralphie getting kicked down the slide while other kids wait to talk to Santa (with a very Shep-looking father in line... that was the scene with his cameo), the Bumpus hounds ravaging the turkey, and finally the kids asleep upstairs while the Old Man and mom clink eggnog glasses (ok, slightly out of order, but hey.)

I hear it's been done before, but I don't care, because I saw it THIS YEAR!

Wow. Do they have a window display of the scene where he's looking at the window display?

"Ralphie lay there like a slug. It was his only defense."

I remember going to the store in Tower City where they filmed the parade and Santa Claus, possibly after they turned it into a Dillards. They had wooden escalators.

Somebody bought the house on W 11th St. in Cleveland that served as the exterior of the house and is remodeling it as a museum for the movie (http://www.achristmasstoryhouse.com/). He was selling leg lamps as a fundraiser and had an event recently where he had the stars of the movie come in. "Stars" in this case meaning Flick (http://www.achristmasstoryhouse.com/images/fundraiser/IMG_1498.jpg), Scut Farkus (http://www.achristmasstoryhouse.com/images/fundraiser/IMG_1428.jpg), and Miss Shields (http://www.achristmasstoryhouse.com/fundpics.shtml#). Ah well. I think Peter Billingsley avoids his connection to the movie nowadays, as he's a bigshot producer in his own right.

actually, billingsley has done commentary for the DVD, masterminded the 24-hour christmas broadcast for whichever turner network it's on, and recorded interstitals about his involvement with the movie when it broadcasts annually. while he doesn't have the shatner attitude about it, i think he's sort of moved on...?

I'm sorry, Charles, "the pillow" is not a match.

Now that you mention it, if you slowed down that "bow-chicka-bow-bow-bow-bow-buh-bow" theme music for Match Game, it would make a perfect porno soundtrack.
