Two new films were announced for SF/31 this weekend:

12 MONKEYS (1995) - Never before seen at the Marathon, though we've had LA JETEE, the French short that inspired Gilliam's feature-length story. (Also, teasingly mentioned, is "Hopefully there will be more news on LA JETEE to come." We may get to see both, perhaps back-to-back. Now that'd be interesting!)

ANDROID (1982) - Aaron Lipstadt's mid-budget indie from 1982. Features Klaus Kinski and music by Don Preston, one of the original Mothers of Invention. Oh yeah.

So that gives us the line-up to this point:

ANDROID
FIRE MAIDENS FROM OUTER SPACE
KONGA
THE TINGLER
THE ADVENTURES OF BUCKAROO BANZAI ACROSS THE 8TH DIMENSION
SERENITY
THE LAST MAN ON EARTH
TWELVE MONKEYS

Honestly, with a few 1970s films, this could very well be one of the best lineups we've had in a long time.

have you been to this before? i have a few questions...

1. is this a good place for a filmmaker working on a project that would be of interest to some filmgoes to network/press the flesh? obviously it's not going to be as good a place as arisia, but.

2. how are you getting out there? can you fit another person in your transport?

GO TEAM BANZAI!

Yeah, you're all happy now, but what happens when they schedule six straight hours of awesome and 45 minutes from the end your bladder explodes?
