It's hard to imagine.
But for $35 you get a crisco cookbook, a mention in the newsletter (the
Pie Times
), access to the double seecrit website, and bragging rights.

Why is there a Pie Council? Are pie-makers underpaid and underappreciated? Are they facing hard times because of high taxes on pie ingredients?
