I like ordering out from East Asia in Powderhouse Square because A. it's cheap, B. the food is good and 3. the driver guy is FAST. I mean, super fast. Last time I ordered from East Asia, I did so at something like 7:41 pm. By 7:50, the food had arrived. That's like nine minutes from "I'd like to place an order for delivery" to "Hello yes I did order from you guys" and that includes the time it took to spell out my street name over the phone twice and beg for no bean sprouts on the tofu pad thai. I gave a big honkin "Even tho you guys are like a half mile away, you rock" tip.

Tonight I ordered at 8:50. HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE? OH THE EXCITEMENT IS PALPABLE HERE AT THE HALL OF JUSTICE

Doesn't this kinda imply that your food is absolutely just scooped out of some sort of trough and run to your door? I think there's such a thing as *too* fast in delivery.

For many places, yes -- Golden Light, for instance, throws $CHICKEN_THINGS into a bowl and then pours $SAUCE_OF_CHOICE over 'em, and there you go. Often times $SAUCE_OF_CHOICE doesn't completely cover the $CHICKEN_THINGS. And then you feel oogy a few hours later.

East Asia is actually really really good. This tofu pad thai is hot and fresh and delicious. Even without the bean sprouts. :)

I totally believe you, because you know your food, but it's pretty incredible all the same. It defies the space-time continuum!

It's also just a couple of blocks away from him. None of this half mile business. They could cook the food in 7 minutes and be there in an additional minute and a half easily.

Most of that half mile (and yeah, I even checked the distance on two map sites) is spent hooking around cause of the whole living on a one-way street and all. But still! It's practically next door!

They are really good. Mmmmm, I miss East Asia. A note, though, I found that their Chinese food was much inferior to their Thai food.

Back in the day, they used to give you a bag of tasty little doughnuts with orders. Do they still do that? They were the most amazing little nuggets of goodness. No glaze or filling, just a little blob of tasty dough.
