IT'S THE EAST ASIA CHALLENGE

I like ordering out from East Asia in Powderhouse Square because A. it's cheap, B. the food is good and 3. the driver guy is FAST. I mean, super fast. Last time I ordered from East Asia, I did so at something like 7:41 pm. By 7:50, the food had arrived. That's like nine minutes from "I'd like to place an order for delivery" to "Hello yes I did order from you guys" and that includes the time it took to spell out my street name over the phone twice and beg for no bean sprouts on the tofu pad thai. I gave a big honkin "Even tho you guys are like a half mile away, you rock" tip.

Tonight I ordered at 8:50. HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE? OH THE EXCITEMENT IS PALPABLE HERE AT THE HALL OF JUSTICE

I do it as well!! But this is because I usually order from the local pizza/falafel place (they know me by name & phone number), and sometimes I am "placing an order for pick-up." I like walking over there & saying hi to them. Getting out of the dorm is good for me. If I have company, I'll have them deliver.

It's just polite! I dont think anyone's ever commented on my method, but not that many people hear me order on the phone.

Heh..that's what I do when I order from Zing Wings Soundbites BBQ. I call up with the "I'd like to place an order for Pickup" in a friendly tone. It's nice and soon enough you're a regular. They know me by my first name now :)
