"Lil' Howie Beale" is a derivative of the nickname I use on the Something Awful forums, for whom I made this originally.
Figured I'd share the schadenfreude with everybody, though, because it's a damn funny story.

Reminds me of the game the neighborhood bully came up with, where one kid would go into this cardboard box and everyone else would throw throwing darts at it.
