I wrote an article in college called "Rounding Up the Squares." (Don't judge. I was an undergrad.) It was mostly about my friend Kim's reaction to seeing all of the squares for the first time.

Her reaction to one of the tiles went something like: "If my kid drew like that, I'd put him in therapy."

These are cute, though.

We had a thread in the davis_square community a while back about the tiles, and I think plumtreeblossom said she knows one of the kids (well, now grown-up) with a tile on the wall. Still lives locally and stuff.

And that dude who did the volcano had a poem written about him. I'd be embarrassed if I were him, but that's just me.

I don't know. If someone wrote a poem about something I did when I was little I'd think it was pretty cool, esp. since the poet thought the volcano was cool and all....

I think that if I had to pass by my own tile every day I'd be a bit embarrassed though.
