Am wondering if there was a F-15 flyby scheduled for the start of today's Sox-Yankees game here in the land of Friendly Fenway cause I just had Maverick buzz my house with a hearty sonic boom, sending at least one cat scrambling for cover (Martha, oddly enough, seems to have slept through it. I don't think Abbie will stop panting with his mouth open for a few more minutes.)

I was also kind of hoping that the plane would do something great to the television reception around here so that I could finally pull in Fox 25 on my aerial, but sadly that was not to be. It's just as well, though; in an hour or so I'm leaving for my high school 10th reunion. I have absolutely no idea who's going to be there, but it's an informal deal held in a bar in Amherst so it can't be all that bad. And I can listen to the game on AM radio while driving out.

That's bizarre. Are the washers and dryers still in the place, or is it just completely deserted?

The windows are all whitewashed, and there's a sign saying, approximately, "We go bye-bye now. Thank you for your years of quarters, suckers!"

The next one is a couple of blocks further down the street. It could be much worse. But that one is smaller, seedier, and now has twice the customers.
