Memo to self: Don't play We <3 Katamari just before going to bed.
Correction: Don't play the bird and elephant's level of We <3 Katamari just before going to bed.
No, wait: Don't play the bird and elephant's level several times in a row because you want to break 1000m and roll up the Petronas Towers and St. Basil's Cathedral, hidden way off across the world map, just before going to bed.
Also: Don't repeatedly play the bird and elephant's level and continuously insist on Katamari On The Swing as your background music because the Japanese Tom Jones cracks your shit up. Just before going to bed.

Nine hours later, the song is still in my head. OKAY MISTER SUNSHINE!

but I did learn that once you reach 1000m on that level, your view goes up beyond the usual sky, the screen begins to turn cloudy white, and the background music begins to change to the gentle happy cloud music. But I still didn't make it back to the damn Petronas Towers though.

Doesn't the view distance always do that around 1000m? Maybe not.
Man... I should replay that level. I never managed to get past middling on that one.

I am all about Everlasting Love (in part because I love that level so much) and Disco Prince. Oh, and I do love Dokaka.

You have the soundtrack, right?

Man, you're obviously more skill't than I am; I'm always all GAH 996 CRANES JESUS.

(I'm probably conflating KD and We <3 in regards to the 1000m. Dur.)

I did once set up the controller with a book on it to hold the analog sticks in 'turn' in the roses level, but it was really, really inefficient and silly. It endlessly upsets me that you can't roll up the non-rose objects in that level, too.

Okay, I'll go play more.

(Dokaka seems to be #94 on my lastfm chart. I think he is awesome. He also has a good few videogame theme covers apart from KD, which is cool.)

Woo! Have you rolled up the king yet? He's all "Woo! No probrem!"

Also, my level of doom in that game was the clean up your room level. I must have played it 1000 times trying to get under 1 minute. I managed to get 1:13, which I was fairly proud of, until I saw the video of the guy who did it in 45 seconds. WTF?!

Aaaaaaactually the overhead view hits in that level when you're down to the last thirty seconds, not +1000m.

Since...I've broken +3000m on that level ahahahahah.

I CAN'T HELP BEING GOOD AT QUIRKY VIDEO GAMES OKAY? I am a misunderstood talent.

Actually...no. You have to get all the cousins to do that, and there are a few that I've not gotten. I was working on JUST THAT when, well, you know. Moved.

Yeah, I was just going to bring that up after replaying that level.
WHOOPS!
My record is 3600m, as well. I conveniently forgot that.

That's hardcore.

I thought my 1800M was pretty good.
