You know, when I said "tis better to fall nobly in the conference championship than be trounced mercilessly in The Big Game" I didn't mean "tis better to choke in the second half and give the other team the biggest comeback in a conference championship game than it is to... do anything at the Super Bowl."

Cause that warn't no noble fall, no sir, no how.

Fuck them in their red, white, and blue ears.

When I stopped watching the game 3 hours ago, it was a righteous ass-stomping.
This is Rummy-level incompetence.

I'm definitely sad (and stunned) but my favourite lady friend roots for the Colts and she made the happiest voice post I've ever heard.

Besides, my boy is from Chicago. At least I can watch the game with him now!

Trivia fact: Super Bowl XLI features the two closest teams in terms of their geographical distance from each other. Chicago is only 181 miles from Indianapolis, whereas Baltimore is 192 miles from New York.

More trivia: This Super Bowl will be the first to feature a team with a black head coach. Well, actually, for that matter, it will feature two.

I was /sure/ the pats were going to pull it out yet again. I gotta say thank ya that we don't have to face 'em again.

Okay, yeah, I feel much the same way.

On the other hand, looked at just as football -- that game was awesome.

Equal parts brilliance and boneheadedness, ballet and klutziness. Amazingly good plays, amazingly bad plays -- and pretty much equally distributed.

Everyone talks about what a joy it is to watch two great quarterbacks playing against each other at the top of their games.

But nobody ever mentioned how fun it is to watch two great quarterbacks playing against each other at the BOTTOM of their games.

Reche Caldwell should be tarred and feathered and run out of Foxboro. Two dropped balls, two missed TDs opportunites that could have put the game away. I almost broke my TV.

Now they'll spin it like Manning was always the better QB, Colts were always the better team, and the Pats just got lucky before.

So....mad....

The Pats lost to the better team in a well-played exciting game. Nothing for the Pats to be ashamed of.

Except Caldwell. He looked exactly like a "deer in the headlights".

I want an LJ icon of Caldwell's face, with "WTF???" on it. That was the BEST facial expression I've ever seen.

Tennessee is afire with the news of Manning's long-overdue ascent to the Big Game. If anyone ever wants to see the Volunteer State vibrate out of existence, just arrange a Colts-Giants Super Bowl for next year.

I have no idea what you're talking about since I'm not a football fan in the slightest. I'd just like to say your sad face icon is awesome. Sorry, this adds nothing.
