My guildies and I were talking about this last night. You have to make $1500 in purchases to pay for 1 month of WoW, since you only earn WoW playtime credit for 1% of your monthly purchases.
Now, if they offered me in-game gold for 1% of my purchases, I'd get that fucking card and go charge a new card. For reals. Screw the embarrassment of throwing down a WoW credit card.
"What a lovely lobster dinner! This blind date has gone better than I thought it would." "It sure has. Oh, don't worry, this is on me. Oh waiter? I believe I'll be paying with THIS" "Uh... I hafta go bye"
In other news, I still cannot see the phrase "Burning Crusade" without my brain trying to make some crude STD joke. I clearly have the brain of a 10 year old.
I saw that and I honestly checked the calendar to see if it wasn't April 1st on some sort of werid, temporal, groundhog day-eque kinda episode. It's nuts... but the scary thing is, I'm sure there'll be plenty of 'em..
If I was a WoW player presently, and actually liked/had credit cards, I can say I would shamelessly look into that! Because I'm that secure in my status as a big, fat nerd.
