"Most of us are called on to perform tasks far beyond what we can do. Our capabilities seldom match our aspirations, and we are often woefully unprepared. To this extent, we are all Assistant Pig-Keepers at heart."
- Lloyd Alexander (Jan 30, 1924 - May 17, 2007)

I've heard of his books but never read them. However, it always makes me sad when an old couple die so close together. They didn't say how he died, but seems like he died of a broken heart.

He was one of my favorite authors as a kid. That makes me really sad.

Oh noes! Now I will have to get out my Prydain Chronicles and read them in memory. RIP indeed.

Aw... thanks for the heads-up on his death, though. This is the first thing I saw about it.

Aw... sad. But that's a pretty long life, I suppose. And an accomplished one at that. :)

I'll be damned!

That was the first series I remember reading as a "young adult." I remember being excited when I saw there was going to be a Disney movie. As flawed as it was, I still loved it, just because it was about a series I liked. Today, I'm the only person I know that remembers it.
