Remember that Passions ripoff of Wicked that I had pointed out to me yesterday?
Well, NBC actually keeps the shows up for streaming an entire week. Now you can have the dubious pleasure of suffering as I did.
The actress playing the older Esmerelda is Gloria Engel, who I saw as Mrs. Tottendale in The Drowsy Chaperone last year. You may also remember her as Georgette Baxter on the Mary Tyler Moore show.
I will concede they made one clever injoke, but I'm not giving it away. The rest of it is just high-larious. Stephen Schwartz must've owed someone on this show's staff a big "I Won't Sue" favor.

Date: 2007-06-30 06:22 pm (UTC)Ok, so, I don't have a television for anything more than playing Guitar Hero and watching VHS/DVDs. If something has been on actual broadcast television for less than, oh, ten years, I probably don't know what it is. (Unless it captures my friends' attention and they tell me about it; Whedon shows, Lost, House, etc.)
So goes for Passions. I just watched Part 1 of that episode, and I think I have to go stick my head in a bucket of bleach. Thank you for confirming why I don't pay for cable...
