spatch: (1939 World's Fair)

More fun from Google's LIFE Magazine archive:

* Orson Welles hypnotizes a baby.

* Grandpa's having way too much fun on the roller coaster.

* And speaking of grandparents, just think to yourself that the lovely lass chugging for VICTORY is probably now somebody's grandmother.

Finally, have a few beautiful artistic photos of some of the sights of the 1939 New York World's Fair held in Flushing Meadows. Absolutely Modernist and graceful and iconic. God bless you, Alfred Eisenstaedt.

And there's some "artistic nudes" in there too if you look carefully. But don't strain yourself there.

For all I know, she could be MY grandmother, who can STILL hold her liquor pretty well.

From what I can tell, there are no ads in the Google/Life archive. If there were ads, the below would qualify for inclusion:

(BTW, if you aren't going to make this picture an icon, I'll do so myself.)
