He yodels! He jumps around to music!
Nov. 24th, 2009 07:12 pmNot sure why I didn't see this one go round the first time out, but here's a (really really crummy watermarked version; sorry, couldn't find the clip anywhere else w/o resorting to Hulu) clip of Joseph Gordon-Levitt's recent appearance on Saturday Night Live where, for his monologue, he performs Make 'Em Laugh from Singin' in the Rain.
Did I mention he gives it the full-on Donald O'Connor treatment?
Yes, with that part.
Oh and yes, with that part too.
And you can tell he is about the happiest fella ever by the end of the number. As well as the most exhausted. Given the nature of live TV and the backstage hustling, I sure hope he had a few moments to catch his breath before his next sketch.

Date: 2009-11-25 05:28 am (UTC)I keep expecting him to look just the same as he did in "10 things I hate about you" so it's like seeing someone who looks kinda familiar but you can't place them.
Reminds me I still haven't seen "Brick" yet either.

Date: 2009-11-25 05:33 pm (UTC)(And now I really want to see JGL and NPH do musicals together. Oh, hey, it's ten whole years since On The Town was on Broadway...wonder if JGL can actually sing well enough to do Gene Kelly's part in that one.)

Then again, I'm surprised the YouTube clip wasn't yanked sooner by NBC, since they're pretty aggressive about taking down their stuff. But they get the concept, though, and are happy to throw the ep on Hulu for us.
But then to run into music clearance issues? Please. That's just embarrassing.
