I take it then that you didn't like it? I'm still a couple years behind on watching The Doctor. The Tenant stuff so far seems to be of very inconsistent quality--some stuff is absolutely among the best I've seen (The Girl In the Fireplace), other is trite and less fun than hokey old 60s-70s seasons. Still better than any 80s stuff.

Also heavy with the Jesus Doctor references early in the episode. Really, RTD: the Tardis in a church window?

I'm hoping Part 2 will suck significantly less. Timothy Dalton looks like he should be in mustache mode (Dalton w/o mustache: crappy dour Bond. Dalton w/ mustache: jolly fun, as in The Rocketeer or Hot Fuzz). But that's enough RTD. Bring on the Moffat years.

Yeah, I was hoping that the Tinkerbell Jesus storyline would have been taken out back and shot after the last meeting with the Master. To John Simm's credit, he looks like he's having a blast in his role. The last couple minutes of the multiple Masters laughing was a successful experiment in time alteration; the timer on my VLC player said that that scene lasted for 2 minutes, but it sure as shit felt like 20.
