I just failed a CAPTCHA test. Instead of requesting that I solve a complicated mathematical problem such as 3 + 5, the test asked me "What is the third word in the phrase 'riva uzociy kawodi dey'?"

I regret to inform everyone that the desired response in this case is not "Beats me, I don't know Polish." However, I must protest; this is a perfectly good answer as it proves to the website that I am indeed not a robot spammer. I'm merely human with foibles and ignorance just like everyone else.

I demand my comment be posted now in light of this stark truth, or I shall take my blog commenting business elsewhere.

Of course, this requires the CAPTCHA programmers to create AI strong enough to recognize and understand common sense/smart-ass answers. Which in turn means that, if computers are smart enough to understand those answers, then they are no longer sufficient to differentiate between humans and computers.
