Jan. 28th, 2010 12:17 pmI am about to head to the dentist's office for the second visit in as many days. There seems to be the slight problem of a blindingly painful toothache which has rendered me incapable of doing anything but lying upstairs in severe amounts of cyclical pain. (I'd be downstairs but I cannot be distracted around this pain or else it comes back really really strong, as if upset that I'm ignoring it. It's even stopped me in the middle of books, which is a mortal sin and makes me all the more ready to just yank out the offending tooth, forget about rehabilitation and fillings and all that, just GET RID OF IT NOW and while we're at it, why not killing ALL the nerves in my jaw?)
All regular painkiller ideas don't work. The stuff they prescribed me doesn't work. A bottle of whisky doesn't even work (and the stuff they prescribed me contraindicates the booze, so away it goes.) The only thing that has worked so far is staying up all night screaming and then waiting for exhaustion to take over. That's really really really how we want to live, so off to the dentist again we go. They're being extraordinarily nice about my state of insurance, which I hear is happening a lot recently.
I don't know. All I know is that this is the most I've written since Tuesday night and it's been a fight, word for freaking word. I am easily irritated, I've lost my temper at the cat already today and it will happen again, and all I want to do is just to sit back down and not be unable to think.
I'd also like a mouth free from pain goddammit.

Date: 2010-01-28 05:40 pm (UTC)If you're in the market to experiment with any new and fun pills, and haven't yet tried Ambien (ostensibly intended for insomnia treatment), give it a whirl. My dad gave them to me because they were "too much" for him; they gave me euphoric dreams and basically made me trip balls (I was watching Mean Girls and it looked like Lindsay Lohan was constantly cartwheeling). I'm not much of a recreational pill person, but that was tons of fun and I slept like a duchess.
I'm also told it's Tiger Woods' drug of choice for fueling crazy sex with women who aren't his wife. So, you know, think about it.

2. Sorry that that comment turned into an Ambien commercial. I lack focus today.

Date: 2010-01-28 06:12 pm (UTC)Seriously, that sucks to hear it. :-( Here's hoping for a pain-free existence.
