There seemed to have been a bit of difficulty, I've heard, to keep the canned laughter out of Scrubs.

So why do you insist on dubbing it in for the promos?!

Well, yes, it's condescending and prompting, but some shows don't need it and recognize it as such. If the promo-makin suits put the laughter on the Scrubs promos, then it's gonna attract an audience that might expect it. And when the TV box doesn't tell them what to feel or when to react, THEY GONNA BE MIGHTY CONFUSED AND CRY AND AND

oh, who am I kidding. I should just be glad they don't put it in the actual show.
