It's still not as flagrant as Adaptation, which had the extra heaping helping of Mary Sueing, raised to High Art.

At least ADAPTATION gave the Mary Sue thing a great twist, once Donald got ahold of the screenplay. That was brilliant.

M. Night in LADY is pretty much saying "This is me, and this is the very important shit that I do, and these are all the nasty critics who are mean to me."
