I have a distinct feeling which way the wind will blow on this one, but I'm curious nonetheless.

I stared at this way too long before choosing Burl Ives. It could have just as easily been Jean Shepherd. It's really a complete and utter toss up between the two. I went with Burl Ives partly because I thought Jean Shepherd would be the overwhelming favorite, like puddnhead.

You might also consider whoever the hell the narrator was in It's a Wonderful Life.
