One sighting of a big fat tuxedo cat about a mile and a half away (if so, he really moves and also crossed several really dangerous roads to get there); the spotter says she'll go back and check to see if it really is him.
Next theory is that he's been hiding out, sick, under a bed or in a dark corner somewhere.
